   Bottle Bioassay

Transfer test mosquitoes to each bottle using the aspirator.

It is not required that each bottle have the same number of mosquitoes since you will be plotting the mortality using graphs and trends. However, it will be easier if the numbers in each bottle are close.

* Be sure to use a filter in the aspirator to avoid inhaling mosquitoes or fragments such as scales.

Puff gently to transfer the mosquitoes.
Puffing hard can flatten them against the side of the bottle, killing them before the insecticide has a chance to.
