Take Precautions

Scan files before opening or using them, and always ensure the use of up-to-date anti-virus software on your computer – both at home and at work. If you need to see the contents of an attachment in order to decide if you want to save it, adopt the habit of opening it with a viewer, which displays the contents but does not open the document in its original software package, such as M/S Word. By doing so, you effectively prevent any hidden malicious code from executing on your machine.

Your part of protecting against viruses is as easy as

KNOWING

the sources of your messages and files

SCANNING

everything that you don't create personally,

VIEWING  attachments with a viewer, rather than an editor, and

REPORTING

the viruses.
